My Mission is your Transformation
Eleven years ago I was a leader in a large organisation and a new mum still shell shocked from how much motherhood had changed me.
Juggling the ambitious, career minded part of me that wanted more opportunities and responsibilities, with the part of me who just wanted to stay in my little bubble with my daughter, go to play sessions and play dates, meet up with baby group friends and basically not work at all.
I wanted it all. I wanted to work part-time but I wanted a more enjoyable work life where I could get my voice heard again. I wanted promotion and opportunity, but on terms that worked for my little family.
I felt like I was out of favour after my maternity leave and my confidence took a real knock. I battled on in my role, taking on more and more responsibility in an effort to prove myself and my ‘worth’.
I started to suffer from acute stress and developed IBS as a result. I had constant headaches and time with loved ones was spent talking and anguishing about work. My precious one day off with my daughter was often spent waiting for her to nap so I could answer the flurry of work emails needing my attention on my day off.
Until one day there was no option but to just cut my losses and leave the job I had previously loved. Leave my generous pension, stable salary and huge paid holiday allowance.
I knew I could build a different work life on my own terms. I started my own consultancy business, creating my own CEO role and employing other talented working mums who also wanted to work part time.
I knew there was a better way for me and I had the confidence to find it. Take that leap of faith. I vowed that I would help other women do the same.
